Just a Thought

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.

A Kid at Heart...?

Church, Entertainment / Recreation, Family Life

Fall from GraceFall from GraceToday the Young Families life group sponsored a Memorial Day picnic for our entire church at a local park (about 5 minutes from us). We had grilled food, dizzy-bat games, water balloon fights, and all the other requirements of a great church picnic. The best part was the "bounce house" that we rented for the kids. This was a deluxe model with a slide attached that you could get to from inside the bouncing portion.

The Prom - 2007

Family Life

Last weekend Tiffany attended her second Prom. It is held at a local high school and sponsored by the school's Renaissance Club. There were about 20 Special Ed kids and 20 "normal" kids who helped keep the party going. Apparently Tiff spent the two hours there dancing the entire time!  The Limbo, YMCA, Train and a large variety of other songs kept them going. Tiffany is getting very tall, and her high heels only add to the look!

Best and Worst of Beach Camping

Family Life, Travel

Best: Having a child very excited about experiencing a new adventure.
Worst: Watching the sun start to set as the drive to the campsite takes longer than expected.

Back from our Mini-Vacation

Family Life, Travel

St. George IslandSt. George IslandSix or eight weeks ago, Sarah suggested that we make plans for our first-ever family camping trip. The two of us have talked about the possibility of going on a camping trip ever since we got married. Still, we'd never actually done it. With Joie now two-and-a-half years-old, the possibility of camping is back -- even though some people think we're absolutely nuts for trying with such a young child. Sarah had been talking with friends at work and peeked around online.

Spring Events in Tallahassee

Family Life

Parade (Alan Walker)Parade (Alan Walker)Springtime is clearly the time for special events in and around Tallahassee, FL. I guess everyone is preoccupied with FSU sports the rest of the year? (Not me, Go Gators!) Sarah, Joie, and I are enjoying all the activities -- trying to make time to take-in all the local culture.
